Our honey is all local and harvested and produced by a North Carolina certified beekeeper, who belongs to the North Carolina Beekeeper’s Association and Wake County Beekeeper’s Association. All the honey is collected from hives located in the southern Wake region.
Raw local honey contains “cappings” which are small pieces of beeswax. It is left completely in its natural state so it contains pollen, enzymes and antioxidants. This is why local honey is so great. Taking two teaspoons a day builds up your body’s resistance to local pollens so it helps alleviate your allergies. It also contains natural enzymes that help some people digest food more easily.
The nutrient content varies slightly but one serving (about one ounce) contains small amounts of folate as well as vitamins B2, C, B6, B5, and B3.
Honey can also be used as a topical salve to treat burns and is recommended as an additive to tea as a cough suppressant.
We always have local honey in stock. We also carry old fashioned flavored honey sticks.
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT FEED honey to infants under 12 months of age. Infants do not have immunity built up to withstand the spores that honey contains.
